Do I have to pay anything to participate in this program?
Participation in the program is FREE to both homeowners and renters. However, for renters, a co-payment from the property owner or landlord may be needed for certain types of services. This co-payment is only required for central air conditioners and/or heat pumps, where it is assumed that property owner owns the appliance. Note: Central air conditioners and heat pumps are not available in all geographic regions.
The funds for these energy-saving services primarily come from public utility programs, supported by a combination of federal initiatives, state mandates, and utility surcharges. The goal is to promote energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption across the community, which in turn benefits the environment and helps manage energy demand on the grid. Due to these collective contributions, qualified residents are able to receive these services at no direct cost. It's a way of investing in our community, our environment, and our shared energy future.
